Why I Shop Online

Yesterday, K and I went to check out this big, Brazilian baby store that was advertising a liquidation sale. I was already aware that most products (especially baby products) here are more expensive than in the States, but I was still shocked by the difference.

Exhibit A: A five stages booster seat for R$349.90 (about $198) at the Brazilian store can be purchased in the U.S. for $39.99 (The colors are different, but notice the same brand and serial number.)

Exhibit B: The exact same infant-to-toddler rocker we saw here for R$299.99 ($170.00) is sold at the company's American site for $40.00.

This is why my poor parents are inundated with boxes from amazon.com whenever we make a trip through the States.

There's NO WAY you can shop for baby things in Brazil! That's why all my friends come here and bring back tons of clothing, toys, seats, etc. for their children. It's shocking to see the difference comparing the way you did, right?
